While the Men Watch is a hilarious new sports commentary show created by Lena & Jules, and described as “Something to do while the men watch. A sports channel for women. Sex in the City meets ESPN.”
Rather than providing play-by-plays of the games they cover, the women dialogue about the other details surrounding the games that men tend to overlook.
Lena & Jules will be providing commentary for tomorrow’s Rangers vs. Penguins hockey game, and one lucky lady tuning in will receive a free nutritional consultation from a certified holistic nutritionist!
BGF: How did you come up with the concept for “While the Men Watch?”
Both our husbands are addicted to watching and playing sports – all year. The two of us are best friends and talk on the phone at least once a day – usually more. During football playoffs we found ourselves on the phone together, bored while our husbands were watching the same game. We just organically started doing our own commentary that made us laugh, so we thought we’d share it with all the girls out there stuck watching sports with their man.
BGF: What sports does the show cover?
We provide female friendly commentary for: Football, NHL hockey, NCAA basketball (semi final and championship games only), baseball, NBA basketball and if we survive all that, will be doing golf, tennis and even Formula 1 racing this summer.
BGF: How much about sports do you actually know?
We don’t know much about the technicalities of the rules and the statistics of the different teams. In fact, the less we know the better. But we do know alot about who’s missing teeth, who looks good with a shirt off and which coaches need a make over. Jokes aside, we both believe sports and fitness are essential to looking good and feeling great. We both train every day. Jules does yoga and weights with her boxing coach hubby, I have run 2 marathons and am training for a triathlon this summer.
BGF: How often, and how can we hear your broadcasts?
We usually broadcast 1x per week, our upcoming games are posted on our website: www.WhileTheMenWatch.com Just go to our site at game time and click on Listen LIVE. You can listen from your computer, iPhone or Android phone.
